Profile
We all have access to an inner calm, confidence and self-esteem that is grounded in who we truly are. Yet obstacles within us can stand in our way - obstacles such as our beliefs and self-image, our ungrieved losses, and our unmet relational needs. We then develop symptoms that tell us something is wrong. These can include anxiety, addictions, eating problems, depression, relationship problems, and dissatisfaction in life.
I see clients at my consulting room in central London to help overcome whatever obstacles they face to feeling calm, joyful and empowered in their life.
Please see my website - www.julietcarter.com - or contact me directly for further information, or to arrange an initial consultation which is free of charge.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
I trained in an approach called transpersonal psychotherapy. This is an integrative approach which means that I am trained in a range of therapeutic perspectives and methods, in particular psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive. I have also undertaken specialist training, for example in working with addiction and trauma. I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues, including addictions, eating disorders, anxiety and relationship problems.
Privately, I see clients at my consulting room in the Harley St. area. In the NHS, I previously worked for four years as a psychotherapist in a GP practice, and am currently working part-time as a psychotherapist at the Maudsley Hospital (a large psychiatric hospital). I also teach the Alexander Technique.
