therapy, Systemic Family Therapy.
Details of Practice
I have more than 14 years of experience as a psychotherapist, working with adults, couples and families with a range of issues. I am fully qualified, registered and insured to practice psychotherapy in the UK. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS). I was trained on Gestalt-therapy and Systemic Therapy, but also I use some techniques from other approaches. I see clients in English and in Portuguese.
Other than working in Harley Street Therapy Centre, I see clients in Battersea and Online, via Skype or Facetime. Furthermore, I used to work and volunteer at the Multi-ethnic Counseling Service in Waterloo Community Centre, were I used to see NHS/IAPT patients.
My purpose as a Psychotherapist is to bring self-awareness to the patient of their emotional issues, behaviours and their way of connecting with themselves and the world. My work consists of walking with the patient through the discoveries, experiences and emotions, from the present and past, in the here and now, aiming for self-awareness and searching for a healthier way of living.
My goal is to give a non-judgmental, comprehensive and safe environment for my patients, building a trustful therapist-patient relationship. I believe that empathy is the most important key for a successful work between patient and therapist and I can assert that I have a considerable capacity of putting myself in others shoes, empathizing and feeling together with my patients. Also, I am a warm and supportive therapist.
Main issues I work with are: Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Trauma, Panic Attacks, Loss, Bereavement, Relationship difficulties, Professional difficulties, Bullying, Family issues, Low Self esteem, Abuse and Violent relationships, Difficulties in adapting and others.
